Think you will find that the LP's are English imports which is why they are on Brunswick. Was the case in New Zealand so I am assuming that it is the same for Australia. We did not start microgroove until 1956. However 78's were being pressed as early as 1949. Indeed they went from Decca to Columbia and then Festival. The reason for dropping the Decca label in favour of Columbia is that EMI did not own the Decca name (probably UK Decca objected as they had commonwealth rights to the name) and only UK Decca artists continued to be released in Australia and New Zealand on that label. As the arrangement for the US Decca catalogue was probably made directly from the States, UK Decca may have had the Brunswick name tied up for the commonwealth also. Thus an EMI house label was used.

Well, that's very odd, because I have just received a 1953 Decca-Brunswick-London catalogue published by E.M.I. (Australia) Pty. Limited (as it then was), though it seems to be treating US Decca releases inconsistently, with for example the ANNIE GET YOUR GUN soundtrack album (Etherl Merman) on Brunswick LAT 8002, yet 78's by the Four Aces, Ethel Merman, Ella Fitzgerald, Deanna Durbin, Red Foley and others are in the Decca Y series! I'm still working through the catalogue, but I don't think there are any 78's listed on Brunswick, only albums (possibly English pressings?). I also have a 1955-56 catalogue for Decca-Brunswick-London (still listing one Four Aces 78 on Decca), but Brunswick is gone from the 1956-57 catalogue, presumably because US Decca, Brunswick and Coral had gone to Festival. It does seem strange that E.M.I. would start using Columbia in 1954 when they had previously been using Decca, while they still had the rights to the Brunswick name, which UK Decca were using for the US Decca catalogue.

Just checked another name in the 1953 catalogue - Louis Armstrong, albums on Brunswick, 78's on Decca, same in the 1955-56 catalogue. I'd better see if I can track down some Aussie or NZ Columbia catalogues from 1954-57, to see if there are US Decca recordings therein.

Neither did Australia. These were also issued on Columbia in Australia until Brunswick appeared in 1957 (Both countries). In fact this is an Australian series. Here is a link to an Aussie issue on this site https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/do70089.

US Decca recordings on Columbia? This does not compute, Will Robinson! Didn't NZ have the Brunswick label then?
