The final solo recordings made by variety star Betty Driver. After this, she only appeared as part of ensembles on a couple of "Coronation Street" cast albums.

mister_tmg 11th Jul 2017		Interesting that the matrix numbers appear to use acronyms from the track titles - PP: Parlour Piano; YM - You're Mine... very nice pairing of tracks, and listening to them makes you think it's a real shame Betty never recorded (solo) again. An album would have been lovely during the 1950s, as her voice had matured nicely, the arrangements were sophisticated, and the technology was there to record both well. Alas, like many other variety stars, I imagine that's where she was pigeonholed. Indeed, Betty concentrated on TV, radio and stage during this period. She appears on sheet music from the time - "Comes-a-Long A-Love" featuring her has popped up on eBay. I'm not aware of any evidence of her singing after this record, but I don't think she lost her voice until the next decade, so maybe she did perform some numbers on TV, stage or radio.
