 This disc is the tip of an iceberg. I have seen 4 Etna discs and Nicola Paone was the artistic talent and writer on all of them. It seemed clear he had an interest in the label. Turns out he owned it and even had at least one number 1 hit on it. Paone was known as the Italian Bing Crosby and had quite a colorful career, little remembered now, it seems. There is a nice article in Wikipedia about him. It seems he issued as many as 150 of his own records, besides briefly signing with Columbia and RCA. He also left his mark on New York City in the form of a self-named popular restaurant that lasted decades after he quit singing and served a clientele of celebrities.
