 Both sides were recorded in Paris with Django Reinhardt, Joseph Reinhardt and Pierre "Baro" Ferret on guitars. "St. Louis Blues" was recorded on 30 September 1935 with Louis Vola (bass) making up the Hot Four, and "China Boy" was recorded on 21 October 1935 with Tony Rovira replacing Vola on bass.
