With respect to Bob Lilley, I've added a clearer image and recording information to the notes.

Info below is mainly from Fred Gaisberg's diaries quoted in J N Moore's biography (various editions and titles), plus my understanding from seeing a couple of these.

The Gramophone Co started recording 10 inch discs in March 1901 but immediately took the equipment to Russia and later on a European tour. Therefore most 10 inch Berliners are of Russian or other recordings. It looks like this was recorded in London on a brief return.

By the time the 10" equipment came back from European trips late in the year the 10" discs were issued with Gramophone Co paper labels and 7" ones remained embossed like this. A very few 10" embossed label Berliners were issued - I'd suspect because the paper labels didn't arrive in time. The G.C. here will stand for Gramophone Concert which was on the 10" paper labels. By probably early in 1902 the 7" issues had also moved to paper labels.

All the London 10" Berliners I've seen are of later 1901, except for the Jacobs record or records. This has a matrix number 127D according to the CHARM database, and is maybe the only known example of a London 10" this early. I don't know if this was issued earlier than the other London 10" Berliners, or if there's any way to tell.

Thanks for the date info but it's most definitely a 10"

Shouldn't this be 7 inch, not 10 inch? The number suggests a date 1900/1
