 "Rum and Coca Cola" was actually written by Rupert Grant aka Lord Invader. The composer credits are to Jeri Sullavan (mis-spelled Sullivan on this disc), Paul Baron, and Morey Amsterdam (of The Dick Van Dyke Show fame). Amsterdam heard the song while in Trinidad on a USO tour. When he got back to the states, he pitched the song to singer Sullavan and arranger Baron. Together they copyrighted a mildly modified version of the song which eventually made it into the Andrews Sisters hands and became a huge hit. Grant was eventually declared the true composer and awarded damages in a civil suit for copyright infringement, but the copyright remained with Amsterdam and company when it was all over.
