| | Thanks for clarification. In the context of "Blues", meant to refer to such as Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Blake, Robert Johnson, Leroy Carr etc.("Country Blues", as called). Many had high sales on some issues, but none slipped out here on UK issues. Lonnie Johnson had issues, but were jazz-based. In the broader context, female "Classic Blues" artists e.g. Bessie Smith, Victoria Spivey etc were well represented. |

The point is not whether or not K. C. Moan was the A-side when released in the UK. The point is that there were various mistakes in your submission (before I corrected them). According to the record label it is K.C. Moan, not K C Moan, composer is T. Blackman, not Shade, cat# is MR 2331, not MR-2331, and A/B-side in your tracklist and in your note were interchanged.
In addition, your note was not fact-based when you wrote:
A-side from 1927; B-side from 1929.The only Blues / Jug-band record issued in the UK prior to WW2.(Other jug-band issues were from shortened versions of big bands).
Though it may have been the only jug band record in the UK before WWII, it was not the only blues record. According to the chapter Black Music Prior To The First World War in the book Cross The Water Blues: African American Music In Europe, edited by Neil A. Wynn (2007), there were around 50 blues and gospel titles (of around 22,000 recorded in the USA) available in the UK before 1942.
I will adjust the record note so that it matches this information. I will also add a snippet of the book for documentation, and the label image of K.C. Moan, as found on CollectorsFrenzy (sold for 218.50 $ or 140.74 £ in Aug 2010). |

| | Apologies. Reason for adding K.C.Moan as the A-side was info, many years ago, from 2 or 3 collectors who had bought the disc when issued. They advised that K.C.Moan had been the "main side" when issued here. Was told this by several others who hadn't bought the disc, but knew of it from then. May have been a "double A-side", as was not a parallel issue, but in retrospect. |

| | Besides, Kansas City Blues, added as the B-side by you, is from 1927 (Oct 19), and K. C. Moan, your A-side, is from 1929 (Oct 4). Thus I flipped sides according to your note and to the source linked by me.
So please pay attention when you add 78s to the database! |

Found the labels of this record here: composer credit of K. C. Moan is not (Will) Shade but T. Blackman which is Teewee Blackman according to Bluebird B-5430. I suppose that you don't have different immediate label information and propose to correct it like this. |
