thebluesneverdie 17th Mar 2014		Re-issue of Regal MR-346. Given a new number to tie in with a new, popular BBC radio programme by Jack Train. Available until 1956. With the amalgamation of Regal (Columbia) and Zonophone (HMV) with the advent of EMI in 1933, Regal re-issues on Regal Zonophone still used the MR prefix, whilst Zonophone re-issues on Regal Zonophone used the same number prefixed by a T. See also HMV B-2080.



scrough 26th Apr 2013		You are both right - confusing isn't it! This was first released on Regal MR 346 in July 1931. Regal-Zonophone first issues were in Jan 1933, starting from MR 749. I don't know why RZ re-issued this under a different number, but a release date of 1949 for MR 3817 seems right to me. And if Regal MR 346 ever turns up, we'll have to link the two.



lorangrecords SUBS 24th Apr 2013		MR 3817 was rel. in 1949 according to an Eddie Shaw discography. I don't think Regal/Zonophon was founded in 1931? The MR series were still a part of the Regal label until 1932.. Last known number was MR 748.
