| slholzer 31st Jul 2016 | Larry Holton is a common pseudonym on Oriole, Jewel and related labels for the prolific vocalist Harold "Scrappy" Lambert. Neither of the sides on this record is listed under these artists' names in the American Dance Band Discography. A group calling itself the Tennessee Happy Boys made a number of sides for Edison, so this may actually be the band's name, at least on Side A. According to Rust in the American Dance Band Discography, Bob Green was a pseudonym on at least one Jewel for Adrian Schubert AHO and on 3 Orioles, 2 by Sam Lanin AHO and 1 by Devine's Wisconsin Roof Orchestra. None of those bands are listed as recording either of these titles on any label or under any name. Another use of the pseudonym which Rust either didn't know about (fairly possible) or failed to cross-reference (equally probable) is attributed to Joe Candullo. Neither title is listed under him either. | |
