 I won't say categorically that "Hula Olapa" is not a composer of native Hawaiian music, but I really think in this case that is not the case. Hula Olapa is one of the several forms or styles of hula dancing. Although the words have been placed exactly as the composer's name on the other side was placed, and where we would usually expect to encounter the composer's name, I think it means that the selection is associated with the Hula Olapa style or school. In furtherance of that argument, I note that the title is described a few lines further down as "Ancient Hawaiian Chant". I would be very surprised if we know the actual names of anybody who wrote ancient Hawaiian music. I'm pretty sure the islanders didn't have an alphabet until we introduced the idea to them.
