In "New York Recording Laboratories 1-1099 Matrix Series" Guido van Rijn and Alex van der Tuuk confirm that these are NYRL masters and were likely recorded ca. August 1921. Both selections were also released under the same artist name on several other NYRL labels, including Claxtonola 40059, Puritan 10059, Triangle 11059 and the obscure Bluebird 20059.

These sides do not appear in the American Dance Band Discography, nor are they directly referenced in Sutton's Pseudonyms on American Records.

Both Rust and Sutton refer to use of this name on the Broadway label as a pseudonym for the All Star Trio (consisting of F. Wheeler Wadsworth-as, Victor Arden-p, and George Hamilton Green-xylophone) moonlighting on its regular arrangement with Victor. It should be noted, however, that the instrumentation on Famous 3053 substitutes a banjo for Green's xylophone, so the correspondence is not exact.

Rust's American Record Label Book advises that Famous was drawn from Paramount masters and that Famous issues seem to be in lockstep with Paramount's 20000 series. Rust says they are 1706 numbers behind Paramount's but the example he cites makes it clear he means 17,006. Famous 3053 should therefore correspond to Paramount 20059, and the ODP indicates that it does. The artist is identified as the Broadway Trio on Paramount, too.
