 The feint writing appears to read "Discard".

 This is an Edison Bell test record, used for its earliest disc records. Norman Field shows an image under Bell Disc. I have added another image of this type to show the printed text on an undamaged copy (of EBW 2263), matrix 2685V. It is evidently not a promo, but a "proof print", i.e. a test [to be changed in the entry]. As far as this database is concerned, it would be best to change the label name Edison Bell Bell Disc into Bell Disc, the name used by UK discographers (like Michael Thomas).

 Just a "V" on the a-side and an "R" on the other, I can't make out what has been crossed out at the top of each label or the feint writing in the Artiste section on the a-side.
