By the time of this recording, the Glenn Miller-led Band of the Training Command of the AAF, had been transferred to the U. K..

Bob Carroll (real name: Marcus B. Kaufman) had been assigned as a vocalist to the Miller organization, and served with the unit from February 3, 1944 until sometime between April 23 and May 8, 1944. Up to the time of his transfer, Carroll had been assigned to the military band unit of M/Sgt Harry Bluestone in Fort Worth, Texas. It was to this band Carroll was to return upon his later transfer from the Miller organization.

Bluestone and his unit, upon the transfer of Miller and his band to the European Theater of Operations in mid-June 1944, was tapped to take over responsibilities of the Training Command Orchestra to include the weekly "I Sustain The Wings" NBC radio broadcasts. It is this orchestra with whom Carroll is performing on this recording.
