 Almost certainly unique in some aspects, but not necessarily in all. If, as I suspect, this disc is an air check, then the source was a broadcast and it could have been recorded off the air by anyone with the necessary equipment. In 1940 that would have included home recorders with acetate blanks and possibly(?) wire recorders. Tape recorders were still several years away except possibly in certain labs in Germany. The unique aspects of each recording would be those that depend on the quality of the equipment used and the reception their radio afforded. The performance would, of course, be the same for everybody, just as it is for all the people at modern concerts who tape it from the audience with cassette players or film it on their cell phones. Armstrong would have been a "High value target" for jazz fans in 1940 and those would have been just the people who owned the equipment needed. Their numbers would not have been large, however, and it is unlikely that multiple copies exist of any of their efforts. So the disc may or may not be unique, but it is highly likely to be extremely rare, even if it is not unique.
