Notes Early popular music - male vocal quartet From "The Old Homestead" by Denman Thompson. Includes: "Nearer, My God, to Thee" (chimes), "The Palms" (Faure) (vocal solo w/ piano); "Where is My Wandering Boy Tonight?" (vocal ensemble, unaccompanied) Originally released on Edison brown wax cylinder with same catalog number in June 1898 with Jere Mahoney instead of Harry Macdonough. Re-recorded for the Gold Moulded process in 1902. A still later version of this selection featured orchestral accompaniment and was issued on the same catalog number sometime after 1904. Images
