 Just one week on the NME chart, and the song didn't reach the sheet music charts, so perhaps its popularity was confined to the Frankie Laine version, aided by the film it came from?

 I thought that the matrix numbers beginning AA on Philips 78s generally matched the B numbers above, and 1H/2H was a way to determine the A and B side. That isn’t the case here, as both sides are 2H, and the AA number for I Heard The Angels Singing isn’t in line with that for Hell Hath No Fury or the B number.

I think the AA numbers on Philips 78s are the original Dutch catalogue numbers, since the company originated in the Netherlands. This sometimes matched the B numbers, but often didn’t.

I suppose if it’s a 78 recorded by British Philips, 1H/2H would be the original coupling, so that’s a reliable way to tell the A and B side. Philips don’t seem to have used traditional matrix numbers though.
