 I remember Spike's version from my dad's copy. Best juxtaposition of a singing chicken and laughing record in history. Actually, I think it was the only one!

 Ah ah ! Of course, "Holiday For Strings" was also a golden opportunity for Spike Jones. And, as recorded by David Rose for RCA Victor, it was the first use of the electronic echo chamber.

 The 'B' side was a bigger hit.
Love the title, though. Makes me wonder if the follow-up was called "In A Persian Melon".
