I haven't found the Carter Family version on YouTube, but here is something interesting by June Carter Cash, daughter of Maybelle, showing the same melody relations (sadly cut as it seems):

"I'm Thinking To-Night Of My Blue Eyes", the B-side, is the much better known song. Its strong melody, found somewhere but definitely not composed by A. P. Carter, was used again for Roy Acuff's best-selling "Great Speckled Bird" (recorded 1936 and a hit in 1938), Hank Thompson's #1 country hit of 1952, "The Wild Side of Life", and Kitty Wells' equally successful answer song, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels." (You can easily mix the lyrics of these four C&W cornerstones in one song, like David Allan Coe had done in his "If That Ain't Country", ending with the lines "I'm thinking tonight of my blue eyes/ And finding the great speckled bird/ I didn't know God made honky tonk angels/ And went back to the wild side of life.")
