Kermit Schafer - Biography(1914-1979). Pioneering American television producer who became best known for popularizing "bloopers" - defined as unintended indiscretions before microphone and camera. Schafer produced many record albums that contained a mixture of archival recordings and re-creations of broadcast errors, and a long line of books that transcribed many of these incidents; the books also branched out into bloopers that appeared in print. In the 1980s, producer/host Dick Clark inherited the mantle of "blooper archivist" from Schafer with his long-running series TV's Censored Bloopers, which was dedicated to Schafer's memory. « Back to Biography Edit This Biography : Biography Credits
