Laurie Anderson - BiographyAmerican musician and artist (1947-). Active in the art world since the early 1970s, Anderson found popular success in the early 1980s with her unexpected UK top 10 hit "O Superman" (a song later performed by David Bowie), and a string of albums that followed, plus a 1986 concert film, Home of the Brave. Continues to perform monologue-based shows, and stands as the first (and only) NASA artist-in-residence. Some of her earliest published work was as an illustrator.
