Leslie Charteris - Biography

Singapore-born British author (1907-1993) best known for creating the character of Simon Templar, a.k.a. The Saint. Between 1928 and 1963, Charteris wrote dozens of novels, novellas and short stories, many of which were first published in magazines before being collected into books. Between 1964 and 1983, a number of additional Saint books were published on which Charteris received author credit, but more accurately served as editor, with other writers (including noted sci-fi author Harry Harrison) actually crafting the texts. These books are listed under the "Appearances" tab of the bibliography.
