oddly, the carcass of neither is stated to be canadian-printed - usually, the higher cover-priced variant would be - and both give the new york street address for daw books; yr hmbl srppnt. may have an idea or two, but does not know what actually happened at new american library and their printers to give rise to this strange state of affairs. both state first printing, july 1980/123456789

(it isn't a normal-for-daw books third (i.e. second merkin) printing, and is definitely the variant intended for canadian distribution, as the price code letter isn't varied to match the higher price - which is a sure identification during the period new american library printed a different cover price on the canadian-distributed, normally canadian-carcased variants' covers.)

some wholly merkin-printed copies reported bearing a new american library price sticker raising their price to $1.95 - perhaps the canadian-carcased copies ran out locally - or maybe sold out completely.
