no isbn - nor even an sbn - is on the cover, despite the occasional statement by some that there is an sbn on the spine: what there is on the spine is the number string 449-02719-075; the first element is fawcett publications' publisher code; the last element is the cover price in three digits, but there is no checksum digit, which is one of the necessary defining elements of the nine-digit sbn.
