this is the first uk printing of the comprehensively revised, doubled-in-length edition #18a q.v.

confusingly, this nowhere upon the front cover mentions that it is this - far larger - revised edition - and it was published bearing the same isbn as the uk p/b of the shorter edition. i doubt richard evans cared...
