ppint. 14th Mar 2023		Book Paul Tabori - The Demons Of Sandorra (1970)	the 426 at the top of the spine is the (i)sbn publisher identifier for universal-tandem ltd. which suggests that this printing was imported into the yuk-of-gb-&-ni by them, as well as distributed in the usa by merkin distributors; the small ''MAC'' at the top fly corner identifies the primary merkin news distributors (wholesalers); some copies in the states have this obscured, which may indicate stocks remained after universal publishing and distribution, inc. changed their primary news distributor.

(it's why there's an armada lions lion logo hiding on the front cover - they kept this, though they don't seem to've kept the may fair books imprint going long - or the apparently related icon/ikon imprint going at all.) cover art by erik blegvad (yes, really) (signed, iirc uncredited) b+w interior illustrations cover price pp. later collins/fontana lions p/b editions were abridged, but this unabridged edition may have seen reprints.
ppint. 12th Mar 2023		Book John Brunner - Times Without Number (1981)	re-reading it after three decades, yr hmbl srppnt. can confirm that my blurb on the back of the hamlyn paperbacks edition is a fair indicator of the book; the cover art is, er, ''somewhat overpowering'', but it's a perfectly reasonable representation of one of the major episode's scenes - and it shouldn't be surprising it's - rather restrainédly, for him - ''fairly melvynesque''.
