Simak - Enchanted Pilgrimage (1985)	abp group / methuen london methuen paperbacks imprint first printing, not first uk p/b edition cover art by peter elson (signed with his initials in a line-drawn box, credited on back cover) cover price £1.95 (overseas territories prices?) 224pp. including titles, indicia etc, end pp. advertising the use of a uniform design for clifford d. simak's name (and for that of each of our sf & fantasy list's authors) came out of my discussion with elsbeth, and was created by the methuen london art department, but i don't now remember whether, or more precisely when, i met him to talk about the principle, and the reasons for my recommending it. elsbeth lindner was a really good editor and should have been made editorial director of methuen fiction when the abp conglomerate sold itself off - it's the job she had been doing, without ever being given the title iirc, after all.

ppint. 5th Mar 2023		Book Damien Broderick - A Man Returned (1965)	i've only ever seen one copy of this, and i didn't hang onto it: i didn't know i'd never see another. it must've been sold by someone in either tandem books' or another small london p/b publisher's offices, whose fiction editor'd been offered it, but decided not to publish a uk edition of it.
