Been collecting vinyl now since the very late 60s (50 years!!) These days have a soft spot for all Jack White III/Third Man related stuff, London, Tamla Motown, a touch of jazz and a host of other things.

sladesounds 3rd Sep 2019		Book Edgar Rice Burroughs - The Outlaw Of Torn	Thee olde Wikipedia bit: The Outlaw of Torn is a historical novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, originally published as a five-part serial in New Story Magazine from January to May 1914, and first published in book form by A. C. McClurg in 1927.
sladesounds 9th Nov 2015		Book Dave Thompson - Goldmine Standard Catalog Of American Records	I bought this as more of a reference rather than a price guide. If you want current valuation of records two useful online resources are: Popsike & Collectors Frenzy which both summarize EBay selling prices I like Popsike as you can see the trends on how some items rise and fall in price over a given time.
sladesounds 4th Oct 2015		Book Alex James - Bit Of A Blur	Rated 8/10 A good overview of the Britpop era by the bass player of Blur. The book flies along at a good pace and is enjoyable and funny view of the ups and downs of being in a (successful) band during the Cool Britainna period of the 1990s. It documents his excesses (he estimates to have spent £1m on cocaine and booze before sobering up) and the music scene around that time with references to his social circle that included the likes of Damien Hirst and Keith Allen. He comes across as, rather than a rock star rebel, an intelligent man with good taste making the most of what his money can buy before slowing down and becoming a family man (with cheese!)
