ppint. 16th Mar 2023		the indica publishing history from the 1974 reprinting strongly suggests that universal publishing and distribution, inc. of new york bought tandem books via a newly set-up uk subsidiary, universal tandem (sometimes ''universal-tandem'') books ltd. in 1967, in time to order a second 1967 reprinting. iirc, the earliest uk p/b edition of ''a dustbin of milligan'' i've seen (so far was) _almost_ identical to this, but didn't mention tandem books as the imprint under which it was published at all... the early history of tandem books ltd. pre-1967 is fairly cloudy, not to say obscure, and difficult to dig into via search engine on these interwebby things: more research is indicated, but may await someone well-intentioned's provision of funds for an ma (bibliophile) year or three.
