It's time for another book about the Beatles. If I were pitching this book to a Hollywood producer, I'd assert confidently that it's what John Hodgman would write if he got together with Mark Twain (modest, aren't we?) and they planned to take their collaboration on the vaudeville circuit. I'd rather have written a more serious tome, but that nincompoop Bob Lewisohn beat me to it, and he's better at research than me. A lot better - or not as lazy - take your pick.

There are a lot of Beatle fans who take the group very seriously, and I do too, but I also think they were just an ordinary bunch of guys, in most ways - at least, all of them except John, though when he started unraveling... wow. My point is; they liked to have a laugh, so I don't think they'd mind us having a few laughs too. At them. This book tells my version of the Beatles' story; I just didn't use as many words as Lewisohn, and I didn't bother with research. Other than that, it's a terrific book.
