ppint. 29th May 2020		sequel is "the devil is dead" (1971), q.v. #3 was trailed as due to be "more than melchisadech", but no novel of this title has appeared. i know of four novellas and four short stories that, like these two novels, are listed as being "argos mythos" stories°, but i don't know how these are all linked - ''lafferties'' are not the most straight-forwardly linked of sf and fantasy stories, and each one tends to bend the reader's mind in different directions from the one before, and the one after - but they're well worth reading, so long as you don't try to read too many in one go. ° - and there are probably more, as a collection with the title intended for novel #3 was published raphael aloysius lafferty was an alien masquerading as a human, and prob'ly trying to write the most human, and the most straight-forwardly human-understandable and assimilatable fiction he could - most of the time: but the alien in him kept popping out in, or showing clearly through his fiction, all the same.
