this retitling published 2003 by the random house group ltd. in the red fox series of books by then reorganised into random house children's books division, editorial address 61/63 uxbridge road, london w5 5sa (the editorial address of transworld publishers ltd, absorbed by/into the random house group ltd.in a curiously convoluted manner).

° - incl. a sentence by w.e.j. in explication of a slang term revived by the wwII raf - but inaccurately, as the meaning given is that it bore in the rfc (so stated by w.e.j.) - in wwI.

ppint. 29th May 2019		a pretty silly retitling of ''biggles sweeps the desert'' (1942), q.v. - people, armies have fought in, and air forces above deserts, but never to defend the deserts from anything or anyone: they're deserts.
