published in regent classics by xmas 1953, as at least one copy bought and given then as a present.
the month and year of publication are given on the front of what would have been the front fly page had the book been made with normal endpapers, but is instead glued to the inside of the front board.°
° i've read that this may be made visible temporarily by spraying with isopropyl alcohol, aka isopropanol, aka rubbing alcohol - which should be done in a well-ventilated space - ditto if using stamp collectors' benzene (n.b. must not be inhaled, either of them; benzene should be washed off skin immediately) will presumably work as well.
n.b. the print will be visible - and legible - temporarily, in mirror image until the alcohol evaporates out.
