ppint. 8th Oct 2020		first paper tiger large format (c. a4) softcover printing, first edition collection reproducing sf, fantasy & horror book cover art by tim white, sans typography with accompanying text by linda bertram cover art by tim white (for ''the crystal empire'' l. neil smith (grafton 1988), q.v., sans typography) cover price £7.95 144pp. including titles, indica etc. at least six near-identical reprintings, with cover price slowly rising through £9.95 iirc, £10.95, (£?.??): 1989 second, 1991 third, 1993 fourth, 1994 fifth printing, 2001 sixth £10.95; undated (?) £14.99 7th(?) printing, stated a reprint of the 2001 printing. one printing may've been double-counted, or this last may've been misreported. paper tiger/dragon's world ltd. went broke and the paper tiger books assets were bought by a new owner, (?)collins brown(?), who contacted unpaid artists and offered to pay them monies owed by the former company - which is exceptional. (from conversation with josh kirby, who was confused and thought the new owners were possibly trying to cheat him, rather than doing more than they were legally obliged to.) (josh, alas, died some years ago now, in 2001.) i believe the new owners were later bought out by some part of the harpercollinsempire.
