ppint. 20th Jul 2023		hearst corporation avon books simultaneous mmpbs first printing, first edition cover art by ron walotsky (signed, signature often guillotined off covers in production, uncredited) cover price $1.75 256pp. (check) including titles, indicia etc, end pp. advertising refer to indicia publishing history to see if carcass of copy held was canadadian- or merkin- printed no priority established nor liable to be, both state first avon printing, october, 1977 the cat# is completely unrelated to the isbn of this book: this is correct for avon mmpbs of this period distinguish from at least two undated near-identical reprintings by reference to the indicia publishing history printing number line progressively dropping digits, the lowest remaining digit indicating the printing number cover art changes with or by the undated eighth printing, still on the same isbn & cat#, cover price $2.95 ($3.75 can(ada)), this art retained through the twelfth printing, cover prices rise.
