(publishers) ltd. sphere books imprint p/b first printing, first uk edition a member of maxwell pergamon publishing corporation plc 27 wrights lane, london w8 5tz but n.b. bears the macdonald & co. (publishers) ltd. orbit logo on the base of the spine; the 27 wrights lane address shows this edition was prepared whilst the sphere books imprint was owned by penguin books/the penguin group, who'd bought the publisher in the liquidation of the conrad black-owned tbl (thompson books ltd.), and whose editorial offices were then at that address, but was actually published after penguin had sold the imprint and most of its back catalogue to the robert maxwell owned macdonald & co., who started to fold the sphere sf/fantasy list into their orbit imprint, and the sphere general list into their futura imprint. penguin retained the michael joseph h/cvr imprint from their tbl purchase, and the jewels of the back catalogue, such as the marion zimmer bradley fantasy titles. cover art unsigned, uncredited cover price £3.99, $10.99 aus., $15.95 n.z.
