In the early 1960s, British roots were firmly entrenched in Canadian soil, facilitating a welcoming environment to the four lads from Liverpool. Capitol Canada had a distinct vision for marketing the band that contrasted from their American counterparts who had little belief in the potential of a British band in America. In fact at that time, most of the labels in the US had turned down the Beatles. From the initial airplay in December of 1962 on Calling All Brits hosted by ex-pat Ray Sonin in Toronto, Ontario, to the CHUM charts of the mid 1960s, Cultural Capital illuminates and celebrates Canada's role in helping to break the Beatles in North America.

JPGR&B SUBS 5th Jun 2023		I was very sad to learn today that Mary-Lu recently passed away. She had cancer and it was expected, but not until closer to the end of the year. It turned out to be a viciously aggressive form of cancer and it got her in three months. RIP Mary-Lu.
