New edition; previously published under the title Doctor Who and the War Games. Novelization of the 10-episode 1969 storyline (the final story to feature the Second Doctor), adapting the teleplay by Hulke and Terrance Dicks.

This edition erroneously shows 1984 as its reprint date, however this version with new cover art and modified title was published in 1990 as part of a series of reissues tying in with a line of BBC Video VHS releases. Cover art shows Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor. This edition published as No. 70 in the Doctor Who Library. 144 pages.
