ppint. 29th Sep 2020		yes, it's as much an art in deciding whether it's ok to abbreviate a title - slightly - to get them to sort together here, or better to retain as strict accuracy as possible, and then hand-link them, as it is a bu^W *feature* of bookcat, that people can't quickly nor easily not-link as identical, books that are not identical in their contents.° but bookcat doesn't sort on subtitles, n.b; which may sometimes necessitate change in how one lists - enters - titles... ° - when different books by an author have been published with identical titles; this takes semi-divine intervention to de-link, by way of a correction



David Whiteley 29th Sep 2020		The title on the cover of the hardback is "Down In The Black Gang" and on the title page it adds "And Others A Story Collection" which is why the second part is listed as a subtitle. Maybe the subtitle should be added to the paperback edition even though it only adds "And Other Stories". The two farmer websites I have consulted both list the two editions as "Down In The Black Gang" only.



ppint. 28th Sep 2020		this book club edition has been entered under a shorter title than the mmpb edition, q.v., etc, and so doesn't sort together with it.
