(signature advised on wraparound cover art on some printings, but yr hmbl srppnt.'s found nor seen any such copy; and the cover art is nothing like that of elizabeth malczynski's for the bantam mmpbs of ''dragonsong'' and ''dragonsinger'') (pern art museum attributes her, saying it wasn't intended as cover art and is a much smaller piece) (elizabeth malczynski ceased work for publishers' cover art after her marriage, but continued working as an artist under her married name, elizabeth littman) b+w line-drawn map by bob porter (signed) cover price $2.25 208pp? including titles, indica etc, end pp. advertising there were five near-identical printings on this isbn during 1980; refer to the indica on the reverse of the title page to see which printing is held further reprints include a shift to the "bantam spectra" f&sf imprint with the sixth printing: cover price $2.95 isbn 0-553-23815-9 and new, full wraparound cover art by rowena morrill (on/by the 5/1986 eleventh printing)
