In George Harrison in the days of The Beatles: A Commentary on 22 Song Lyrics from 1963 to 1970, the lyrics of 22 songs by George Harrison during his time with the Beatles are commented on and interpreted with the help of extensive literature. Among other things, his famous tracks My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something and Here Comes The Sun are considered. In addition, an extensive bibliography of Harrison literature published in German is included.

There are a few books about George Harrison, only a few of them are written in German (see pp. 147-150). In these, surprisingly, the authors have hardly devoted themselves to the texts of George Harrison.

This book aims to remedy this shortcoming. 22 songs were considered; composed by George Harrison during the existence of the Beatles and published during that time under the name "Beatles".

The following titles were therefore not taken into account:

You Know What to Do: recorded 1964, released 1995 (Anthology 1), Not Guilty: recorded 1968 and 1979, respectively, released 1996 (Anthology 3) and 1979 (solo album George Harrison), All Things Must Pass: recorded 1970, released 1970 (solo album All Things Must Pass), 1996 (Anthology 3), Circles: recorded 1968, released 1983 (solo album Gone Troppo), 2018 (anniversary edition The Beatles) and Sour Milk Sea: recorded 1968, released 1968 by Jackie Lomax, 2018 (The Beatles anniversary edition).
