° - the uk edition of science fiction adventures started off as a bre (british reprint edition) re-edited by john carnell, as a companion magazine to new worlds & science fantasy, the two other magazines he edited for nova publications; but when the merkin original closed down, instead of closing the bre, john carnell re-launched it as a british original sf magazine, specialising in publishing short sf novels (including novellas) complete in each issue, with short stories to fill the magazines' pages as required. the card covers' printers seem to've been given inadequate or incorrect instructions - or else to've badly misunderstood lancer books production/art department's directions - and grossly overdone the size of the ''easy eye'' logo, to put it mildly...
which didn't leave much room for the major detail of the re-used freas cover art, which had to be considerably over-reduced in consequence. . . (this comment is from another edition of this book)
