The Howells Latin setting is believed to have been first performed for a Service of Compline and Benediction at Westminster Cathedral on Easter Day 1914
This was transcribed for double choir from the transcription made by a youthful David Mills-Thomas of the Cathedral Choir School, 28 July 1928
