yr hmbl srppnt.'s spent - or mis-spent - most of a life in the universes of sf, fantasy, specialist sf, fantasy etc. book-selling, and as an sf (& fantasy) editor-manqué(e) - learning how the world(s) of publishing work as they changed over those years, and how they worked before them, was fascinating in a sometimes dreadful way - as well as essential to being able to do the editorial/consultancy work.
