 8 stories out of the 22 stories and 5 essays of the original us 1952 hardcover of this same title.

uk 1953 hardcover edition selects 14 stories of the 22 and only conklin's introductory essay (which it prints as an afterword).

"enemies in space" (1962) (digit r577, r883), q.v. reprints the remaining 6 stories from the uk hardcover.
