Gregory Martin is a British writer/producer and actor of stage, film and television. He is the eldest son of Beatles producer Sir George Martin and the half-brother of the music producer Giles Martin.

Someone commented that the title of my memoir seems sad. Well I’m sorry to be the cold, hard wake up call of truth to all you die hard mop top fans out there, but there was a lot of sorrow in the glittering story of The Beatles, and I saw it and lived through it. Doesn’t mean the memoir is sad. It’s actually Uber joyous. But you don’t get to eat the white cake without being forced to eat the black. That’s life. THAT is why George wrote his monumental song that my father and the other Beatles rejected in favor of Hey Jude — Isn’t It A Pity. George was too deep most of the time for dad and the lads, God bless him.

JPGR&B SUBS 21st May 2024		The author advised me today, Tuesday 21 May 2024, that the book is being revised, and that the title has changed from Isn't It A Pity to Blackbird. No news yet on publication date.



JPGR&B SUBS 11th Sep 2023		The author confirmed to me on Wednesday 6 September 2023 that there was no news yet on either publisher or publication date, so I have changed the publication date in this entry from 2023 to 2024.



JPGR&B SUBS 10th Sep 2022		The author e-mailed me on Tuesday 6 September to advise me that his memoir will be published in 2023.



JPGR&B SUBS 22nd Aug 2022		I have written to the author via his company website to try to find out anything more about the publication of this proposed book. I don't imagine it will be published this year, so I have amended the publication date to 2023, until or unless we hear anything different!



JPGR&B SUBS 7th Mar 2022		Rumoured to be published in 2021 but it did not appear. Maybe in 2022? The title is probably Isn't It A Pity.
