This is the last of the New Adventure series to feature the seventh Doctor in the incumbent role.

Amazingly, in just one book Lungbarrow manages to tie up almost all of the loose ends from the New Adventures series. It even provides a credible reason why, in the movie starring Paul McGann (which follows on from this chronologically), the Doctor would be collecting the Master's remains from the planet Skaro (addressing the fact that he had previously destroyed it in the TV series). Despite the New Adventures series fitting nicely between the TV series and the movie, the books have never been considered canon to the show. Some have since been rewritten as episodes of the series (e.g. Human Nature).
