ppint. 16th Nov 2020		unlikely to be a ''pulp'' in fact, as this is/was a term classifying the particular grade of paper upon which e.g. the pulp magazines were printed, all of which browned and started to autodestruct pretty quickly with exposure to air - especially quickly, if also exposed to sunlight and u.v., but just air is enough. mmpbs and digest magazines were - and still are - printed on paper several grades above pulp, as pulp grade paper cannot tolerate ''perfect binding'' - being glued into card covers, whether after being glued into a stronger paper or cloth binding-strip, or not: the pulp paper splits and then tears far too easily, even without any deliberate force being applied at all. as people with collections of the pulp magazines are all too-aware, or are finding out; and keeping them out of any daylight or uv-tube artificial lighting isn't enough to preserve them; nor is non-acidic plastic-bagging them: replacing the air in such bags with nitrogen, and then sealing them works - for a while (years, maybe decades); but it does rather destroy the point of the pulp magazines, themselves. . .° ° - other than as investment artefacts/opportunities: and, as the number of collectors of pulp magazines also diminishes through ''natural attrition''...
