despite being credited to both authors, written by butterworth only.

ppint. 24th Jan 2019		poor exploitation novel with little or nothing to do with mobile army surgical hospitals, the original novel, "mash: a novel about three army doctors" richard hooker (1968), q.v., or the film - and not that much to do with the characters as portrayed in the t.v. series either, as they'd've been in their sixties and seventies by the time thirteen of the fourteen exploitation novels were written and set. one of twelve written by william e. butterworth between the first two (1968, 1971) and the final book (1977) actually by "richard hooker": the concentration is on immature male sexual adventurism and farce. reference copy provided courtesy of tony at the old pier bookshop, morecambe seafront (who said he and his army mates read all of these - as teenagers - and yes, they're awful.)
