ppint. 2nd Jun 2019		manor books mmpb undated° first printing with cover design bearing the very large arrow emblazoned with the more-or-less meaningless declaration/announcement ''editor's sf choice'' whose presence raises the strong suspicion that manor books had no sf - nor, possibly, any other - editor. cover art by jack faragasso (uncredited, unsigned, framed, over-cropped re-use of centre, lower half of that on ''the sleep eaters'' (macfadden books 1971 q.v.) (titles are set on a field from another piece of art) cover price $1.50 224pp? including titles, indicia etc, end pp. advertising checksum digit of declared isbn10 checks out consistent with isbn rules. indicia publishing history does not acknowledge the macfadden books edition's existence, though the rights to the novel, as well as the cover art, were inherited by the successor company now owning that corporation's imprint, back catalogue, and all the rest of its sundry rights and licences. ° assigned date obtained by interpolation into sequence of manor books cat#s, checked against cover prices of manor books mmpbs of this extent
