 grosset & dunlap charter communications ace books mmpb first printing,
first edition according to indicia publishing date, but was preceded by the sphere books uk p/b edition

this ace mmpb did not in fact appear until 1/1981 according to locus #242, 3/1981.

the cover art (unsigned sfacbs, and uncredited) is attributed to paul alexander in ''science fiction and fantasy artists of the twentieth century'' jane frank (2009), q.v.
